Illinois Governor in Federal Custody

Never let it be said the FBI doesn’t occasionally do the right thing. I’m actually rather happy with the extent the FBI under Bush has gone after corruption.
UPDATE: Looks like he was trying to sell Obama’s Senate seat, without much success. I guess a slow economy hurts the corruption industry too:
A 76-page FBI affidavit said the 51-year-old Democratic governor was intercepted on court-authorized wiretaps over the last month conspiring to sell or trade the vacant Senate seat for personal benefits for himself and his wife, Patti.
Otherwise, Blagojevich considered appointing himself. The affidavit said that as late as Nov. 3, he told his deputy governor that if “they’re not going to offer me anything of value I might as well take it.”
And we elected a President from this cadre of corruption.

I’m confused. Was the Governor of a major state elected without belonging to a political party? What news!

The Tribune mentioned his party……..7 paragraphs down.

I somehow have the feeling that we won’t be hearing about any other Democrats getting indicted and/or arrested for their corrupt activities after Obama’s inauguration. Hopefully Charles Rangel and Chris Dodd will get some comeuppance before then.

As a CT resident I would LOVE to see Dodd go down. But then I worry Ned Lamont would fill his shoes.

The other problem right now, is that Blago is still the Guv. and can still appoint anybody he wants to the Senate, including himself.

Sen Pres Harry Reid said they won’t seat any appointment made by Blago, so that’s a done deal.
IL State special session Monday to vote on having a special election and maybe articles of impeachment.

The real story here, is this is the “womb from which Obama was conceived.” The “Daley, Rezko, Blago, ” trinity is what gave him birth in the first place. Total corruption. Now we all know that “absolute power corrupts absolutely”, and who now has “absolute power”? We must stay alert.

The pro-Obama media now seems to be all telling us that we’re all just supposed to believe instead that everybody in Chicago politics is corrupt except Obama, as if a guy who just emerged out from a sewer would not have even the slightest bit a stench on his body.
