It’s a Lot of Cartridge for Bambi

TD is getting his rifle zeroed for deer season.  He’s shooting a 9.3x62mm CZ 550.  Those big bullets will cook the meat for you!  Just ask Patricia Eddington.

Holy Crap!, he’s going to use a buffalo round on a deer? Geez. The largest I’d go is a 7mm Rem. Mag. but even that’s too much for a deer. I’ve since gotten a .243 Win. rifle for my next deer season.

Is there really any such thing as too much? :)

Jesus Christ, do the deer wear body armour where he hunts. The biggest I have ever used was a .30-06, ussually a .270 Rem.

The only rifles you can use to hunt deer in Indiana are muzzleloaders — well, unless they’re on your property (that may or may not be legal, but it’s the way it works there).

Well, if you want to be able to enjoy eating the deer as much as shooting it, yeah, there is such a thing as too much (caliber).

That’s way over kill. Sure, the deer ain’t gonna suffer, but that’s gonna ruin a lot of meat.
