First State Greetings

Greetings from Bridgeville, Delaware. Home of Ralph and Paul Adams Scrapple company, and a former employer of mine (long story). Just making my way down the Delmarva. Should arrive in Norfolk in a few hours.

Sounds like you are taking US 13 S. If you didn’t stop at Smith’s Orchard for apples and cider, then consider stopping at English’s Grill for some of the best fried chicken in Delmarva. The original is on business 13 south of Rte 50.

The “new thing” in the area according to my mother is Smith Island cakes. She sent an 11 (!) layer cake to me for a house warming.

You’re in my home stomping grounds. But back then you didn’t need State Police to approve of your choice of gun and many of the students and teachers’ vechicles had a shotgun in it during hunting season. At least at Colonel Richardson HS.

There’s a shooting range in Bridgeville somewhere, but I have no clue where exactly.
