“I can do that, it’s my lawn mower and my yard so I can shoot it if I want.”
He’s being charged with possession of a short barreled shotgun and disorderly conduct with a firearm. No doubt the Bradys will be highlighting this guy shortly.

“$11k & over 6 yrs in jail”…unless you are the Vive President of the United States and you target is someone else’s face…then you don’t even have to report it.
I wonder if Heston’s NRA will come to his defense???

Possession of an SBR/SBS without your NFA paperwork is a federal felony. The misdemeanor is actually pretty trivial compared to the charge for having an unregistered SBR/SBS. Of course Wisconsin law might outright prohibit them too.

No word on how the lawnmower is doing, I see.
That’s why strict controls on short-barreled shotguns are so important–if it saves just one lawnmower . . .

The funny thing about all this is we’ve probably all thought about doing it at one time or another. Maybe not the lawnmower, but something :)

Wonder if the charge or SBR/SBS will hold up. Do they actually know how to measure a barrel properly? Somehow I doubt it.

If we could get an outright ban on lawnmowers, these things wouldn’t happen! Mr. and Mrs. America, turn them all in!

You laugh, but there are tree huggers out there who want to do just that. At least for those dangerous earth assault lawnmowers that run on gasoline.

electric lawn mowers. provided only your lawn’s small enough to make them practical, they start every time with no fuss, no smoke, no stench, and very little noise. takes at least half the frustration out of lawn mowing, then you can save your ammo for the range.

I don’t know, Nomen: sometimes lawn care equipment just needs shooting.

Here’s the gun nut question: What’s the appropriate round for shooting a lawnmower? :)
July 26th, 2008 at 4:20 pm
Obviously that depends on the situation. If you can get close enough, a .22 will do it. However, if the lawnmower is, for instance, using the weed whacker as a shield/hostage, you might need to use a scoped rifle from appropriate cover. :)

“I will give up my lawnmower when they pry my cold, stiff fingers from it.”
Which, thanks to aging, may be much sooner than my ultimate total demise.
Sounds like he would have been better off pouring his ethanol in the lawnmower…at least it might have dissolved the fuel bowl gunk and started…

Jokes aside, it begs the question whether we should be sending this man to prison when we’ve got 17 million illegal aliens running around, crack dealers and real criminals out there.
