If the ACLU changed their name the American First Amendment Union or something, then that would be fine. But there is an unforgivable hypocrisy involved in claiming to promote and protect ALL of our civil rights, while at the same time trashing an explicitly enumerated one. The ACLU has never said of the first, fourth, or fifth amendments "we're gonna wait for some more case law"... they would dang well go out and MAKE some case law. On the one hand, I'm glad they aren't getting involved due to their unfathomable stance on the issue. On the other hand, I wish I could support them again. I agree.
