This is why Barack Obama is just another politician in my eyes. He thinks he’s bringing bold and innovative thinking to government, when there’s ample evidence to the contrary. First, he espouses the same old progressive canard that hasn’t been able to get anyone elected since LBJ, and secondly he has the typical do-as-I-say-not-as-I-did attitude that every politician has.
The man has absolutely no political balls. There’s nothing new or fresh about anything he says.
Banning drinking outright would lower drunk driving to a remarkably low level… if you are going to espouse a logical chain of reasoning, you may as well follow it to its natural end.
And this would be a wonderful example of my biggest gripe with this moron… He is all about change, but has no idea how to accomplish it, why to do so, or even really what to change. A little thing like this would not only be easy, but it would do wonders for a group of people who are no doubt stressed and strained to the limits… But instead of positive solutions, he just pulls out tired old rhetoric.

That’s just putz-level pseudo-parental thinking and behavior.

I would go for lowering the drinking age of those that enlisted. Putting your life on the line for your country, you old enough to buy a beer.

It helped reduce drunken driving? BS…but if it did, why not raise it to 31? Or 40? Or 50?
“Seven of the eight veterans raised their hands when Obama asked who had suffered emotional or mental problems as a result of their service.”
Thanks for your service…no guns for you guys!

Yeah, that is “change” for you.

Actually on military bases the drinking age is set be the post commander. There are many posts where the drinking age is 18.
