Speaking of old, go over to Jerry Pournelle’s place and wish him well. Not only is he older than I by a bunch, but he has a brain tumor for which he’s getting daily death rays shot through his head.
He is, of course, taking it with his usual Viking Manliness, while still writing SF and about using computers at home.

Sorry, Sir, I don’t catch yer drift. Who is the guy in the picture?
Otherwise, I concur on the sentiments expressed. If that is a picture of Mr. Gura, it’s the first one I have ever seen.
I reckon that it is not necessarily bad to resemble Leslie Nielsen, who gave such a good account of himself in “Forbidden Planet.”

It’s Leslie Neilson, playing the role of Dr. Rumack in the movie “Airplane!”

Why do I suddenly feel old?

That was my sentiment :)

Got it. BTW, I neither speak jive, nor like gladiator movies. I loved Forbidden Planet, though. I was already old when Airplane came out.
