Idaho is a great state for camping and hiking. With all the pine trees, the soil is too acidic to allow most of the under-growth in Oregon's forests(west of the Cascades).

Basically, you can walk through the woods, make your own trails and don't have to carry a machete for hacking brush.

Idaho is also great for Bigfoot huntering for the reasons listed. In Oregon, our Bigfeet are so out of reach.

I sometimes wonder if I wouldn't be less annoyed by Fast Eddie if Mitch Daniels weren't such a vivid contrast.

Idaho has the benefits of four seasons just like anywhere else. But, in Idaho they are early winter, winter, late winter, and next winter. :)

Seriously though, I have spent a lot of time in Idaho when I had to visit the home office and it would be a wonderful place to live.

Of course, I doubt there's much of a biotech industry in Idaho, which is the industry I've been working in for 10 years.

Oh yeah, it is an overwhelmingly church going state–maybe you aren’t going to be happy here.

I can live with church going folk.

"Still, if I had my chance, I’d love to live in Idaho."

I should taunt you with pictures of where I live. (Well, from the three seasons when everything isn't white. That's really what "white power" means in Idaho--not what those ex-Californians up in Hayden Lake think.)

It is very different from where you live now. Friendly people who surprise you with unexpected generosity of time (although not money--few people have any here). Surprisingly polite and respectful teenagers.

I was just about to say "What a great idea! We should--"

And then I realized where I was.
