Don’t hate him, just can’t abide (along with the neatly cited above) his alliance with Kennedy on amnesty, favors attempted for s&l crook Keating, support for corporate welfare as in the 2001 airline bailouts, proposal to impose fed regulation on the boxing business (good grief, who cares?), increase spending on the absolutely failed ‘war on drugs’. general anti-business tone posited by; “for patriotism, not for profit”, votes for minority contract set asides, supports warrantless wiretaps and other forms of surveillance, supported additional restrictions on personal bankruptcies, to his credit he has supported reduction of business taxes to enhance competitiveness and induce retention of domestic economic activity. Wait a sec, hasn’t ‘ol John expressed belief in the fantastic catechism of global warming, solution of which will involve massive gov controls on most activities from where we live, to how warm/cool our dwellings may be, what modes of transport we may use; nope, no socialism there, just gov ‘inducements’ directed by gaggles of new regulators.

All right, maybe not socialist, but with a dem legislature McCain will likely give in to most if not all demands, seeking only rubber stamping of his stated position that our mid-east adventures continue indefinitely with no vision of victory. This is a deal the dem majority will be happy to live with, and we all shall pay for.

And Hillary’s already announced the campaign will be so civil, it just may lull us to sleep. Tweedle dum+Tweedle dee.

I don’t bemoan anyone for hating McCain for campaign finance reform, his stance on immigration, for his flirting with banning private sales, or for being, generally, a self-serving arrogant prick. Those are legitimate grievances with him, but McCain is far from a socialist.

Nose is still sore from holding in last couple of election cycles, a McCain candidacy insures election of either full bore communist or suck up socialist, neither very attractive, each guaranteed to shrink liberty, grow government, and reduce the circumstances of many Americans.
