Clayton Cramer has done some research into the use of the unorganized militia during World War II.  Well worth a read.

    An absolutely wonderful find and should be considered as an amicus brief supporting Heller.

    Clayton is working on an amicus brief with a few other people. This will no doubt find its way into it, I would imagine.

    After some Googling, I think Dave Kopel previously cited those state archives as well in the early ’90s.
