Tyler Cowen has his list. I would have to add Tastykakes, particularly Butterscotch and Jelly Krimpets. Not the Lemon or Creme filled Krimpets though; those are an abomination in the eyes of god. It’s a great way to get your morning dose of yummy, Mayor Bloomberg approved trans-fat!

I’ll second the butterscotch krimpets, and add a vote for the healthy breakfast treat of chocolate coffee cake (I think that’s what it’s called, two layers of cake with a good dose of chocolate icing).

Are you referring to the Chocolate Junior? Two layers of yellow cake, with a hearty dose of sugary chocolate frosting in the middle and on the top. Also quite good!

We don’t seem to have tastycakes up here. We have whoopie pies, though.

Next time you’re down this way, take some with you. The glory of trans-fats is they don’t ever go bad! Tastykakes may not quite have the longevity of the most famous nuclear holocaust survivor, “the twinkie”, but they come pretty damned close.

That’s funny, I was referring to the chocolate junior. I looked for it specifically in the store yesterday because of my shame at forgetting the name!
