23 Bridges

I get bored on the way to work, and the bridge collapse in Minnesota got me thinking about how many bridges I drive over every day. The answer is 23, on my morning commute. One or two less on my way home. You never really notice 99% of the bridges you drive over.

I drive on a raised roadway that collapsed before they even got the whole thing built. Plus one multi mile bridge and unknown others (I’ll count ‘em today too).
I don’t worry about it. I’m more concerned with asshole drivers killing me than a bridge. As a matter of fact, I’d worry more about getting hit by lightning than having a bridge collapse under me.

The bridge collapse got my attention, mostly because I had passed through that area the day before the incident.
And the next day I passed through an area experiencing forest fires. Yah for road trips!
